- Next, using the natural pressure of your hands – don’t press down too hard – sweep the cream across your neck and décolleté area. Be sure to distribute the cream evenly.
- To finish off, you can apply some light pressure to the neck area to help stimulate circulation. Before doing this, be sure you’ve got your chin up, your back straight and your shoulders are back.
- It’s a great idea to use a gua shua crystal or stone to help massage the neck cream into your skin and stimulate circulation there, and aid lymphatic drainage, too.
The best time to apply one
If you’re applying your neck cream in the AM, you may want to check whether it is retinol-based. And if it is, when exposed to the sun, it can cause more harm than good. If you’re wearing it during the day, you will also need to protect the skin with a SPF.
Overall, the best time to use a neck cream is during the PM. You won’t have to worry about the rich formula leaving a greasy stain on your clothing, and you have hours ahead of you when sleeping to let the cream sink in and do its thing!
