7 Easy Ways To Better, Fluffier Eyebrows

Over plucked? Just not growng? Luckily there are some easy ways to get better, fluffier eyebrows

By Chere Di Boscio

You know, it’s a funny thing. But just as with clothing, eyebrow styles come and go.

We saw super skinny brows explode in the 1920s and 30s, for example. But by the 40s and 50s, everyone looked to Joan Crawford or Audrey Hepburn’s beautifully sculpted, dark, thick brows for inspiration.

By the 60s and 70s, models like Twiggy and Penelope Tree revived the thin brow look. But in the 80s, Brooke Shields popularised natural, bushy brows. This continued with the ‘supermodels’ until there was a return to the thin brow back in the days of grunge. And today? Bushy is back!

Unfortunately, it’s not the easiest look to achieve for many. Over plucking, poor brow form and bad genes can all mean brows that don’t optimise your features. And that’s a shame – the brow is one part of your face that really defines your look.

7 Tips To Get Bigger, Fluffier Eyebrows

7 Easy Ways To Better, Fluffier Eyebrows

1. Start By Shaping Your Brows Correctly

“No matter what brow type you have, if you want to get bigger, fluffier eyebrows, you need to start with brow shaping.

Here’s how to get the right shape for your face:

  1. First, look for your brow’s starting point. Create an imaginary line that begins at the end of your nose and ends at your brow.
  2. Secondly, find your eyebrow’s height by creating a diagonal line from the outside of your nose to the centre of your eye. A little definition here can lift your whole look.
  3. Finally, focus on your brow’s length, Begin by creating a mark where the brow ends. This can be done by making an imaginary diagonal line that starts at the outside of your nose and ends at the outer corner of your eye.

After you’ve mapped your brow shape, you can create the illusion of better, bolder eyebrows by simply over-extending the ends of your brows and bringing the start of the brows closer together.

2. Try A Brow Dermaroller

They definitely work on your skin. So why not use a dermaroller on your brows, too? In fact, dermarollers have been proven to increase circulation to the scalp and increase hair growth there. And the same is true for your brows.

That’s especially true if you apply a growth serum at the same time. Which is why we love the  Genuist Beauty Roller Brow Dermaroller + Serum.

This is a gentle, at-home derma roller for your brows. It combines the power of derma rolling with a power-packed, effective, brow-enhancing serum made with natural ingredients that stimulates the hair cycle and gets brows beautifully blooming. With routine use four-five times a week, the Roller Brow addresses brow hair damage through this groundbreaking brow derma rolling tool and serum in one.

The Roller Brow’s innovative design allows for the brow-enhancing serum to come through the roller as you glide it gently over your brows. The serum inside the Roller Brow is made with all-natural ingredients and is powered with Capixyl, derived from red clover extract, and acetyl tetrapeptide-3, a biometric peptide. Both can strengthen, lengthen and stimulate your brows for optimal blooming.

3. Use A Serum

It’s a happy fact that just like eyelash growth serums, brow growth serums do work! And that’s thanks to science.

For example, RevitaLash Cosmetic’s RevitaBrow contains a biopeptin complex with peptides, lipids, biotin, green tea extract, and panthenol. They work together to help strengthen and condition the brows, with results seen as early as in eight weeks.

Alternatively, Vegamour’s GRO Brow Serum contains a unique Polyphytobase Complex. This boasts  phytomolecules, including mung bean and red clover, and zinc, designed to help support the hair follicle through antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and hair-boosting properties.

Finally, BaeBrow, pictured below, uses natural ingredients that have been proven to promote the hair growth on your brows. Don’t believe me? Check out tons of video testimonials on their site!

4. Be Patient

As with the hair on your head, your eyebrows grow in a cycle. If you’ve made a tweezing mistake, it will take around three to four months for the brows to grow back. I know it can seem like an eternity, but check out point 5 below to take care of our look in the meantime.

If the outgrowth becomes distracting, use a full-coverage, matte concealer in a shade that matches your skin tone to disguise the growth around your arch. Avoiding tweezing while your brows are growing back. But if you really feel you need a clean-up, pluck only one brow hair at a time to shape the brow area during regrowth.

5. Try A Brow Conditioner

If we use a conditioner on our hair, why not use one on our brows, too? After all, experts claim that having your existing brow hairs conditioned and nurtured will preserve them best. RevitaLash Cosmetic’s RevitaBrow Advanced Eyebrow Conditioner is a great option to try. It’s loaded with peptides, lipids, panthenol, and botanicals to help soften and strengthen brow hairs.

6. Use Castor Oil

Castor oil has long been used for so many things. Think: growing lashes thicker, conditioning skin, and stopping hair loss. And of course, it may also help you get thicker and fuller eyebrows.

The product has been used across different cultures for centuries. Just make sure to choose a 100% pure, organic variety, like this one. It gets great reviews!

5. Just Fake It

Can’t wait for brows to grow back? Got a condition that doesn’t allow them to grow thick? Or maybe your genes just aren’t cut out for it? Never fear. You can just fake it!

Use a micro-lining eyebrow pencil to get the most natural look. The key is to create believable, hair-like strokes throughout the arch.

But here are some more great tips:

  1. Select a pencil shade that reflects the colour of your brows.
  2. Next, fill in sparse areas with tiny strokes.
  3. Leave hints of skin between each stroke. Remember: no one has totally ‘coloured in’ brows, no matter how naturally thick they may be!
