Over the course of several decades now, designer Charlotte Bialas has been helping to reduce waste in the fashion industry by using leftover textiles from some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses to create her eponymous line of women’s wear.
Using mainly silk in amethyst, sapphire, ruby and emerald colours, Bialas’s designs favour geometric shapes: rectangular trousers, triangular tops and circular dresses, for example.
The Swedish born, Paris based designer is popular both in Europe and Japan, and has recently started selling her range online, too.
For us, the selection of patterns, usually with a 60s or 70s flavour, really defines the brand, and the loose, comfortable fits mean it’s easy to shop for Charlotte Bialas online.
But maybe one of the best features is that you can shop by pattern or fabric–if you fall in love with one of the textiles on the site (they are all listed and shown in detail), you can then order a dress, top, trousers or jacket made from that particular fabric.
