Spring is the time to slough off all the dry, dead skin you’ve accumulated over the winter, and to put your best face forward with a primavera glow! But you don’t need to wait until the cherry trees are blooming to give your complexion a good old-fashioned deep clean – you can use organic skincare products to do that any time.
Whether it’s an organic shower gel to use every day or a deep cleansing mask for skincare emergencies, we’ve found some incredibly effective skincare products to melt all the dirt and grime out of each and every pore, no matter what your skin type.
Before discovering which products to use, first you’ll need to know how to give yourself a good facial:
First, take off all makeup with a gentle cleanser.
Secondly, use an exfoliant, but be SURE it’s a natural and gentle one! Those with microbeads have devastating effects on the environment: they kill certain forms of marine life, and because they are so tiny, they are not filtered out by city water purification schemes and can end up in your drinking water! Prefer not to use a scrub at all? Glycolic acid creams and cleansers can also remove dead skin cells just as effectively.
Then, steam your face to open pores. Then, gently pat on a mask that’s right for your skin type.
Finally, moisturise well, massaging the cream in gently.

Facial Cleansers & Toners
Pai’s face wash uses the power of organic flowers: Camellia and Rose to be specific. This gentle cleanser easily removes everyday grime and make-up whilst infusing your skin with the goodness of omega 3 and vitamins A, B, C & E. It leaves skin super clean, smooth and hydrated.
Best for: All skin types, especially sensitive skin
Prefer a soap to an oil or cream for cleansing your skin? Here, Australian pink clay and white Kaolin clay hydrate and heal the skin, and geranium and palmarosa oils lend your skin a rose-like scent. Coconut milk adds a creamy, gentle lather, while wild-harvested mango butter and cold-pressed, organic avocado oil nurture sensitive skin types.
Best for: Oily to combination skin
Meet the ultimate in multi-tasking luxury! This award-winning Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil + Makeup Remover effortlessly lifts away impurities and makeup. Its non-stripping, clean-rinsing formula features papain, a fruit enzyme that helps to soften and cleanse, and a natural Vitamin B complex to detoxify and tone. For Cleansing The Body
Winner of several Beauty Awards, this delightfully scented body wash contains high concentrations of Moroccan Rose Otto Oil, one of the world’s most expensive oils, revered for its skin toning qualities. Not only will you come out of the shower feeling cleaner, but also like you’ve just spent a few wonderful minutes in a rose garden in the rain.
Best for: Dry and mature skin
Using anti-oxidizing green tea and gentle aloe vera as its base, this shower gel smells as refreshing as a morning cuppa and is gentle enough for any skin type. The gel has anti-ageing properties and never dries the skin out, but gets the job done.
Best for: Dry and dull skin
A favourite of Kate Moss’s (she keeps this stocked at her home in the Cotswolds), Bamford’s Botanic Sugar Polish has been developed at the brand’s wellness retreat in the UK. Rich in Shea Butter, it exfoliates and softens the skin on the body with Brown Sugar, Sesame and Olive Oil. A reviving blend of Cinnamon and Rosemary Oil will leave your skin beautifully scented after the bath or shower.
Best for: Rough patches on the body, like elbows and knees.
Bitter Orange extract gives Natura Bisse’s C+C Vitamin Scrub a citrus blast. This hydrating, gel formula is infused with gentle but effective exfoliants that smooth the surface of your skin to minimise the appearance of pores, protect your skin’s lipid barrier, and soften out skin tone.
Best for: All facial skin types.
Masks and Deep Cleaners
This intense treatment smooths the skin whilst deep cleaning. Strawberry seed extracts plump and nourish whilst rice germ and millet seed protect and cleanse. Gentle enough to leave on overnight, or if you like, smooth on for a few minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Best for: Combination or Mature Skin
Moroccans have long known that natural Rhassoul Clay can be used as a face and body mask in addition to being a potent cleanser. The clay contains a high percentage of silica, magnesium, potassium and calcium, all of which when combined reduce dryness, improve skin clarity, elasticity and firmness.
The clay is also proven to remove surface oil and that from around comedones (a.k.a. blackheads or whiteheads), but that’s not all: this deep-cleaning mud also removes dead skin cells, resulting in a general smoothing of the skin’s surface. Just make a paste with water, apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off. One of our faves here at Eluxe!
Kora Organics’ mid-weight daily moisturising cream has been blended with a delicious blend of rose, six natural Omega fatty acids, mandarin oil and bergamot. This hydrating formula is designed to replenish and rejuvenate dull, dry complexions, leaving skin soft and supple.
Best for: All skin types.
Cold pressed from the Avocado pulp, Ooh! Oils’ Organic Avocado oil is an excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D and E – all of which not only nourish your skin, but also provide it with surprisingly deep hydration and protection.
Best for: Dry skin.
