While you may not feel that the warm weather is quite here yet, there’s never a bad time for glamping: many glamping destinations are fully heated, and even if they’re not, there are plenty of rustically chic spots in hotter places around the world, so what’s stopping you from enjoying the great outdoors…in the lap of luxury?
From Tipis in Cali to Bungalows in Bali, here’s our pick of some of the best glamping sites, no matter what the season.
Thick Turkish rugs, plush king-sized beds and romantic fire pits all make these authentic Tipis offer rustic luxury with an eye for style. Set in the spectacular Amargosa Canyon, visitors here may enjoy the wildlife and birdwatching, as well as the breathtaking panorama of the wizened and weathered limestone formations. The glamping Tipis are just a few steps away from a 1920 vintage cottage, where you may find bathrooms and sitting areas. Tecopa is rich in history and rough-hewn charm, and will entertain the eco-traveller with night skies, desert flora, geology, rock-hounding and photography. Of course, Mafia Island is not a hideaway for gangsters but is rather a spot for a romantic or family retreat, with a myriad of activities on offer from whale watching to snorkelling through some famous African coral-reefs.
What could be more relaxing than sleeping surrounded by the white sand beaches and unique marine wildlife off the coast of Tanzania? If you long for the land of kangaroos, you’ll be delighted with this unique resort, which combines comfort, luxury and access to the wilderness just outside your door. Eco Beach’s safari style eco-tents are fully equipped with the highest quality canvas exteriors, a king size bed, luxurious bed linens, three-shelved wardrobe kit, large storage chest, en suite shower and toilet, and fly-screen ventilation. The wilderness retreat also offers a wide range of activities such as fishing, hiking, yoga, and whale watching.
