Loco for Rococo! The Fabergé Rococo Collection

By Chere Di Boscio

Using its heritage and history as a guide, one of the world’s most iconic jewellery brands, Fabergé has recently introduced its Fabergé Rococo collection.

Re-interpreting opulent rococo style with a modern twist, the collection takes its inspiration mainly from the elaborate gold scrolls featured on the legendary Rocaille Egg, pictured above. This exquisite treasure was an original Fabergé Easter Egg created in 1902 for Russian heiress Varvara Kelkh.

The detail and style of these scrolls reflect both 18th century Louis XVI style and the rococo artistic movement. Sensual arabesques of precious gems, sourced by ethical miner, Gemfields, are ode to colour, with the stones swirling into a   kaleidoscope of colours in their mosaic pavé settings.

The pieces in the  Fabergé Rococo collection range from gold-set statement cocktail rings and bracelets to delicate necklaces and drop earrings, all set with exquisite, rare centre stones including exuberant emeralds, twinkling sapphires and candy-coloured rubies. These unforgettable items are sure to become part of Faberge’s fascinating and continuing history.
