New York has never been timid about embracing–or creating–new trends, and as this FW14 Fashion Week witnessed, the city is still as cutting edge as ever.
Organic fashion was highlighted by several fashion forward designers, including a perennial Eluxe favourite, Daniel Siverstein, Susan Woo, and  Mimi New York.
Mimi New York salvages textiles from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century and transforms them into glamorous Goth-tinged gowns, each one of which is completely unique. Delicate webs of classic black lace, tumbles of velvety petals and silky drapes of cotton tulle embellished the “Metamorphosis” and “These Hands” collections, which debuted at  Launch NYC  during New York Fashion Week last week.
Mimi New York may be a new player in the eco-luxury fashion scene, but from what we’ve seen this season, this is one designer to watch.
