As much as I hate to admit it, vegan leather shoes aren’t usually the sexiest prospects for a die-hard fashionista, but when Gwen Stefani designs them, suddenly there’s no footwear more desirable.
Named with a nod to her beloved Japan, the MIWA by GX collection for winter designed by Stefani breathes new life into vegan shoes. These ultra modern designs feature geometric lines, urban colours and a bit of pop star magic.
All styles are crafted with a super sexy high heel (which Gwen herself is never without) and there’s even a super cute vegan handbag range to match. With its spiky, punky geometrical designs, elegantly muted palette and feminine charm, the entire collection has Stefani’s style stamped all over it.
This isn’t the first time Gwen has ventured into eco-fashion design: as well as creating a previous summer shoe collection for GX (below), she’s also created DWP (Designs with Purpose), a capsule collection of moto vests, cool blouses, slouchy trousers and crop tops–in short, it’s very much based on Ms Stefani’s own personal style, plus they’re made from eco-friendly fabrics, including organic cotton, silk and Tencel.
And it seems the ultra-stylish singer is enamoured with the design process: she’s planning yet another vegan shoe range to come out this spring. Apparently, we can all look forward to seeing some peek-a-boo toes, brighter colours, Perspex and of course, as always, Gwen’s trademark high heel.
Combine Stefani’s DWP clothing with the GX handbag and shoe range, and you can kit yourself out from head to toe in pure, animal-friendly rock star designs. As Gwen might sing: “What you waiting for?”
