Charlotte Olympia’s shoe designs have gone a bit eco for her newest collection, which involves a collaboration with the iconic French champagne brand, Veuve Clicquot.
Inspired by the sparkle of champagne bubbles and the happy pop of corks, Olympia’s latest shoe and handbag collection features her signature sexy style, set off by subtle gold accents and Veuve Clicquot’s famously identifiable orange and rose shades.
Her ‘stand-alone’ platform has been added to the heels, and she’s replicated her best-selling cat-face design onto the flats.
While Olympia is no stranger to cork, having used it for the soles on several of her summer collection heels and in a few bags, such as her Parisian Eiffel Tower clutch, the collaboration with Veuve Clicquot heavily features the eco-friendly material, and a clutch bag is made almost exclusively from it.
It’s obviously uber-glam, sexily sustainable and has been in style for decades, so we hope to see Ms Olympia using cork in even more of her creations in the future, whether or not she’s got a champagne backer. Cheers to that!
