Pretty in Paper: Mai Couture

By Sophia Hussain

Pretty pink paper is not merely reserved for scripting romantic love notes – as this indulgence emulates a natural flush.  Mai Couture blush papiers are thin delicate sheets infused with paraben and talc-free mineral powders, for your on-the-go beauty routine.

Housed in petite luxe gold notebooks similar in size to a single blush palette, these portable sheets eliminate the use of a blush brush.  Using a similar concept to oil-absorbing blotting papers, simply take a page from this book and gently press the powdered side against your cheek, gently tapping the sheet upwards starting from the apples of the cheek, and extending slightly above the brow bone to deposit the pigment hue.

Blush Papier in Prettyful (a cute name for a pink hue) feels light and adds a natural-looking flush to the cheeks, with a hint of shimmer.  Toss away the sheet after blushing both cheeks as they are only good for one-time use. Since the papiers fit into a thin clutch, they can also be used to touch-up your regular blush application throughout the day.

Mai Couture papier cosmetics contains kaolin, and the paper, which is made from Nadelholz kraft pulp, abaca pulp and hemp, saves on plastic packaging. Available in various hues to suit all complexions, there are at least six papier types in the Mai Couture series, including an 2-in-1 oil blotting + bronzing duo.  Though, you may be tempted to embrace these papiers as a glam notebook instead.
