What is the earliest memory you have of being in nature?
Going camping, it rained the whole week-end we had mud all over the place! I loved to hear the rain on the tent.
What’s the most positive thing you do for the environment in your daily life?
The first thing to do is enjoy the environment and teach my children to show respect for it by recycling and throwing trash in the garbage. In the city, it’s not easy to connect with nature, but we’re at the parks every day with the kids. Chemical-free housekeeping products and cosmetics is a must; we only use eco-friendly cleaning products in our home and eco-friendly paint on the walls. We eat no processed food, try not to waste and maintain as low a level of consumption as possible…less meat, more beans!
How did your career influence your life today?
Simply put, I take care of myself. People hire you for your smile and your good energy, that’s what they want from you so in order to look good you have to feel good: I have a holistic point of view of beauty which means a healthy diet, training (yoga) managing stress (meditation) and leading a healthy lifestyle. You need to surround yourself with people who believe in you and who love you as you love them, Cultivate a spiritual life and connect with nature.
Which natural beauty products do you use?
Coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil soap, Jason, Earthly Delight Shampoo from Lafes Natural BodyCare, Green Beaver Star anise natural toothpaste, floral waters (blueberry, rose, etc.), and of course, Lisa Noto makeup.
What’s your favourite eco-travel destination?
Parc National du Mont-Tremblant, bas St-Laurent, Ile de la Madeleine, Gaspesie, Camping in any of Quebec’s national parks in a yurt!
What’s your greatest eco sin?
Using my car. I love to drive long distances: I go to NYC by car and travel to different meetings… but at least I don’t have a daily commute.
Which sustainable fashion brands do you like?
Stella McCartney, FILI vetements pour enfants (kids clothing line), Ada Zanditon, M. Patmos, Mink Shoes.
As a mother, what is your greatest concern for your child’s future?
To be able to breathe good air and drink safe water. There’s so much pollution in the air and water, I’m worried it already started to badly affect us and our lack of awareness will be a big burden to generations to come.
