Ethical gem miner Gemfields has paired up with top international designers to create another wonderful collection, sold at Couture Lab.
The London based company controls emerald, ruby and amethyst mines, keeping strict tabs on the entire extraction and production process, from cutting and polishing through to selling to select dealers and jewellers, ensuring that each gem is as ethically and environmentally friendly as possible.
In a statement, the company made their reasons for doing so clear: “We understand that mining companies can no longer take from the earth without giving back. In an industry in which, historically, fine words have often been more common than fine deeds, we have set out to lead by example.”
The end result is an exciting collection of huge creative breadth from talented designers from all around the world, some of which are modelled by spokeswoman for the company, Mila Kunis.
While these pieces for Couture Lab may be wildly diverse in style, they do have one thing in common that’s even more precious than their brilliant, rare stones: their sustainability.
