We always assume that high tech has to include metal and plastic, but Oree Technology is proving otherwise.
Whether in their eco-friendly keyboards, wooden phone cases or wireless chargers, the French technology company has always blended sustainability with high technology.
We’re particularly fond of their tablet ‘desktop’ made from wood and recycled leather: the cover folds to become an easel with ergonomic angle for any digital tablet or smartphone. It may also be simply detached keyboard.
Their latest offering adds natural design to their unique product construction mix: creative technology entrepreneur Julien Salanave and product designer Frank Fontana have used traditional craftsmanship and organic materials to create a wireless charger from a marble pebble. This beautiful object, which looks more like a paperweight, can charge any smartphone or tablet, simply by placing the gadget on top of the stone. They are also wonderfully compatible with the brand’s phone cases, made of solid wood and vegetable tanned leather.
Perfect for the design conscious home and eco-conscious consumer, Oree charging stones and tech designs may have design elements from the past, but are packed with the technology of the future.
