The Beckhams may be multi-millionaires, but they are also quite charitable with those riches. Not only did the couple donate loads of old clothing to charity to help those affected by the natural disaster in the Philippines some months ago, but along with Prince William and other sports stars, David is also taking a strong stand against wildlife poaching, donating both time and money to the cause.
Now, Victoria has donated 600 pieces of her fashion archive to TheOutnet.com, which will be selling the tiny-sized pieces with proceeds going to charity–namely mothers2mothers, which aims to eliminate the transmission of HIV and Aids between mothers and their unborn children. Great news indeed, especially when added to the recycling of these amazing threads!
Gynecologist Dr Mitch Besser – husband to Annie Lennox – has encouraged Victoria to donate to this cause, and thanks to his wife’s high profile, his charity has been supported by some of fashion’s most high profile names from Anna Wintour to Stella McCartney.
Up for grabs on TheOutnet will be many of Victoria’s most iconic outfits, from the Roland Mouret Galaxy dress that sparked a thousand imitators to the white Prada dress Vickie B wore in Spice World The Movie.
The sale runs from 20-25 August, and if you’re larger than size zero, don’t fret: jewellery, hats, shoes and bags are also on offer. To be in with a chance of snapping up a bit of fashion and pop-music history, register at THEOUTNET.COM from 5 August. Most pieces will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, but there will also be an auction of 10 of Victoria’s most iconic looks. Don’t lose out on this Victoria Beckham charity sale–sign up now!
