One of our favourite couture designers, the talented Sohad Acouri, debuted his first ever pret-a-porter collection at Atelier M’s anniversary party in Dubai recently in a fashion show that dazzled the 500 VIP guests at the event.
Using natural materials including silk organza, French lace, Moroccan crepe and silk brocade, Acouri moved away from his usually colourful palette to shift towards a more sensual monochrome theme for this collection, entitled ‘Eve’. The white, cream and barely pink frocks were cut to highlight the most beautiful highlights of the female form. Asymmetrical lengths displayed miles of legs, transparent panels hinted at feminine flesh, and deep cuts flaunted decolletage.
The fabulous dress for the finale included Acouri’s signature micro illusion nude tulle, hand embroidered with white sequins, crystals and intricate beading. A red raw silk cape, acting as a symbol of love and seduction closed the show, which could be described as having been a true Paradise of eco-fashion.
