With a seamstress mother and a surgeon father, it seems Argentine designer Martin Raffa was destined to work with a needle and thread.
The designer blends paternal and maternal influences remarkably: from his father, he learned how the body moves, and from his mother, how fabric flows.
The result is couture creations that are in constant motion, beautifying the body through cut and the juxtaposition of textures and materials: plush velvet, breathy chiffon, cool satins, flowing silks and fine wool crepes, all of which Raffa upcycles or recycles from dead stock.
Currently based in Paris, the designer draws inspiration not only from the beauty of the French capital, but from his muse: supermodel and fellow Argentine Milagros Schmoll.
Very elegant, very Eluxe.
