Their known for their sexy, sassy, sustainable dresses, but now LA label Reformation’s newest project involves big, bleating animals.
The brand has now turned its hand to the latest craze in sustainable fashion: alpaca.
Freshly launched, their alpaca sweaters collection will offer four styles made of natural fibres that are just as soft as cashmere, but have a much lower carbon footprint than traditional yarn sweaters. Expect pretty, slouchy sweaters in neutral shades that look perfect with a pair of boyfriend jeans.
While Reformation prides itself on local production and sustainable manufacturing year-round, the brand takes the “eco” element of this collection one step further, heading far South to source totally renewable alpaca wool from small family-owned farms in Peru. It’s here that the alpacas are raised and sheared under the most natural and humane conditions, with their fibres being spun into sweaters without any treatments or dying in between: you could say the collection goes directly “from farm to closet”. It’s gentle on the planet, the alpaca, and your skin, too.
Very warm and fuzzy indeed!
